It's rather difficult to try and describe Lake Tahoe. I mean, just look at these pictures! Jordan described it best, calling it a "gnarly part of the world." He's been living out West too long. But he's right. Split between Nevada and California, the beautiful blue lake at the base of 10,000ft mountains is simply a stunning sight. And since Jordan moved to Tahoe (Stateline, Nev., officially) in the Autumn of '99, he's worked for the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency (TRPA) as a lawyer helping to preserve it. Prosecuting polluters, what a life.

While Jordan finally found the dream job that his 27 years on the planet had led up to, I was in a good place, as well. I quit my first job at Editor & Publisher, taking an associate editor position with The Princeton Review starting in mid-February. Responsibility, real editorial work, free Coke and a softball team. And after nearly three full weeks under my belt, I took off to Tahoe, with visions of a sweet job keeping me warm.
Beth and I spent our first four days on the slopes of Heavenly entirely on the Nevada side of the mountain. Although it is the smaller half, Jordan's killer cabin (3-bedroom, insane views) was .4 miles from the Nevada base (I checked on the odometer). Most of the pictures, however, are from California, where we spent our last day. The sun came out for the last afternoon and the week's worth of powder was an absolute dream. We'd fall and laugh. Although by the end, we weren't falling much at all.
